The new memorial will list the names of all service men and women from

Cohasset that have served during the

Korea, Vietnam, Gulf Wars and the current War on Terror, Afghanistan and Iraq.

The 28 foot diameter sunken memorial will be constructed of field stone and grey granite to match the existing memorial walls,

honoring those who served during the Civil War, Mexican Expedition, World War I and World War II.

The landscaping and layout of Veteran’s Park will be realigned to feature the new centrally located memorial. 

We have the support of the Veterans organizations and we are now in the process of discussing the

design with the garden clubs, Park Department and others.

We plan to begin construction shortly after Memorial Day this year and dedicate the memorial on Veteran’s Day 2006.
